Another January Birthday

Today is my dad's birthday!  We all went to church this morning then out for lunch to celebrate.  I asked Braden and Ella to make him cards.  Braden's was just hilarious.  This week at school one of his teacher's turned 40, so her door was decorate in black and had the RIP sign and all.  So, Braden learned this week that at 40 you are "over the hill".  In the birthday card, he wrote, "you are 61 on January 31st which is way past 40 so you are really old now!"  He is just too smart for his own good!  He also drew a picture of a mouse with a cane!!!  (and a character, too!)

We also then went to their house to have cake and dad's favorite cake is carrot cake.  So mom made him one to which Ella asked, "Maka, will you leave the carrots out of mine please?"  We cannot get that kid to eat a vegetable to save her life!!  Anyways,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAD!  We love you!!

1st Grade Fables

Today was Braden's first grade play called the First Grade Fables.  It was a really cute play about the different Aesop fables and their morals.  Braden was the narrator mouse and he did an AWESOME job!  We are so proud of him.  He has always done a great job at memorizing his lines and being very dramatic.  We keep saying he is going to grow up to be an actor!  He also got the job of bring out the posters for each of the different morals.  Braden goes to school with such a great group of kids.  They made this play so much fun to watch!

Braden's First Basketball Game

Yesterday we had a "snow" day in which we had NO SNOW!!  But, we definitely enjoyed the day doing nothing!!!

Today, Braden had his first Upward basketball ball game.  I really like the purpose of the Upward program, which is to introduce children to Jesus Christ through opportunities to serve through sports.  I am also Braden's coach and I am learning so much from these wonderful kids!! Today, Braden and his teammates did an AWESOME job!!!

GO EAGLES!!!
